CEREC Crowns
CEREC Crowns are also known as same-day crowns or chairside crowns. Thanks to the development of dental technology, you can be prepped and fitted for a crown in just one appointment.
What is a CEREC Crown?
Similarly to a traditional crown, a CEREC crown is a full-coverage restoration used over an existing tooth that has been damaged or following a root canal treatment. CEREC crowns are constructed from ceramic to produce a customised, natural-looking crown to complete your smile in just one day.
How does it work?
In four easy steps:
- An intra-oral scanner is used to capture the area to be treated.
- The scanned images are compiled to create a 3D model on the computer
- The crown is designed and rendered using state-of-the-art software, to which the dentist may make adjustments to best suit your needs.
- The crown is then milled in-house from a ceramic block, resulting a perfectly customised ceramic crown ready to be cemented to your existing tooth.
Why choose same day crowns?
- Easy and comfortable process – Traditional crowns involve uncomfortable and time consuming impression procedures. With CEREC crowns, the intra oral scanner can take your digital impressions in just a few seconds.
- One and Done – CEREC means that your crown is prepped and ready to go in just one appointment here on site. No temporary crowns or follow up appointments needed.
- Just like a real tooth – Ceramic has a translucent quality that provide a natural looking crown. It also processes a similar strength to a natural tooth.
